Gentle Yoga with Sarah
Simply showing up to the yoga mat is often the hardest part of a yoga practice. That we show up at all is the first success of any class. Each of us show up in our own marvelously unique ways of being alive. Each act of showing up honors our own special rhythm. This class invites you to meet yourself where you are.
Within the space of a yoga-oriented approach, and guided by a trauma-sensitive facilitator, students are invited to explore traditional and variations-of-traditional yoga shapes and
movements. Breath-work and mindfulness are offerings throughout the practice.
So have a sip of tea, and let's step onto our mats. Warm up with gentle movements, ease into a flow, and then cool down with restorative inspired shapes.
This class is suitable for all levels, with no prior experience necessary. It is a great class to prepare for meditation or a good night’s sleep, or to just to clear the cobwebs from the day.
Bring a yoga mat and yoga blanket or towel (optional: yoga blocks, bolster, yoga strap, or other props that you enjoy using.)

Sarah Schwartz:
Sarah’s Yoga journey began in 2001. Inspired by her yoga teacher, she began teaching in 2009.
Over time, Sarah felt drawn to the path of Therapeutic Yoga— honoring the deep roots of lineage while orientating from a trauma-sensitive approach found through contemporary western psychology. Sarah is a Certified Yoga Teacher through Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and facilitates through a trauma-sensitive lens. She is certified in Mindful Trauma-Informed Yoga, Nervous System and Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Women’s Health, Traditional Chinese Medicine Yoga, and Yoga for Seniors. Sarah is currently completing a comprehensive 500HR teaching certification through Yoga Medicine and a 300HR certification through New Haven’s Breathing Room. Sarah’s classes and private sessions are for students of all levels and yoga backgrounds.
Off the yoga mat, Sarah enjoys making art in her studio at Farmington Valley Arts Center. She also enjoys gardening, traveling, connecting with nature, and deepening her studies in somatic health through expressive arts.
